97th Intelligence Squadron - Offutt AFB

Completed: T.B.D.
Construction cost: $11,400,000

This project includes the renovation of, and a very large addition to, a large secure existing intelligence operations and maintenance facility. The overall size of the facility doubled upon completion. The squadron is heavily equipped with computer network systems throughout the building. The entire building is a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF). Due to mission evolution and a rapidly-increasing population, before completion, staff were decentralized, housed partially in other buildings, and were extremely over-crowded. The project required carefully phased construction in order to maintain secure operations and keep staff on duty in the building throughout the construction period. The facility houses 4 distinct user groups, each with over-lapping facility needs and adjacency requirements. Common facilities are shared by all groups.
